With the warmer and WET weather upon us, it is important that students come to school dressed for success. Unless there is a downpour, students will be outside regardless of the weather for a minimum of 40 minutes and sometimes an additional 40 minute Physical Education period. Boots, a change of clothes, and a warmer layer are encouraged, indoor shoes are imperative! Students who are not dressed for the weather conditions will live the natural consequences of being hot/cold and wet. Reach out to the school if you need support providing clothing for Spring weather conditions. ~ Sarah

Food Sharing

The Food Sharing program at Acadie aims to provide nourishment to students to improve their readiness to learn.  Our program is an open, grab and go program. Healthy snacks that are easy to take away are available throughout the day.  We ask that students aim to take snacks at PAUSE and lunch time and that they be mindful of what they take to ensure there is always food available for those in need.

The Food Sharing Project is a community partner of the Ontario Student Nutrition program and is a charitable organization.

If you would like to make a donation to the Food Sharing Project, you can do so in hte "product" tab in schoolday.

Safety Drills

In the unfortunate event of an emergency at Acadie, we want everyone to be prepared and understand the expectations of them.  We will be holding the following drills in the upcoming days:

Apr 7, 2026:  Hold & Secure Drill (Threat is outside the building)

Apr 8, 2026: Lockdown Drill (Threat is inside the building)

Teachers will be reviewing expectations for students with them in advance of these drills.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Acadie Play

Students have been rehearsing and preparing since November to put on Poulterguise, a spooky comedy about a possible “haunting” at a middle school. We will have a total of three shows on April 8th and 9th! Two matinees for Acadie students and elementary students, and one evening show at 6:30 pm on April 8th. A donation to the arts upon entry is appreciated; we hope to see you there! ~ M Sam

RKY Registration - Grade 7s

Registration for grade 7s to attend RKY June 9-11 is active on school day.  This trip is a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy their peers outside the school setting, challenge themselves to do new things and plain have fun!   The students heard a presentation about all the details they need to know about camp - ask them what they learned.  If you have further questions, reach out to Mme Lasko laskos@limestone.on.ca

* Cost will not inhibit a student from participating, if you need financial assistance, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher or the Acadie office.

Further there is a spot in schoolday “products” for families to offer a donation to support a student in need.

Please toggle yes or no to confirm your family has made a choice and avoid repeat notices being sent for response.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Chaperones Needed!
In order to make this trip successful we will need the support of parent chaperones.   Chaperones must hold a current CPIC.  If you are interested in chaperoning for all or part of the trip, please begin the process of applying for your CPIC now since it can take a long time to process. Please fill out this volunteer survey if you are interested in chaperoning for RKY: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1f60lQ4DcR50Juv_0Sg1vIqHNKGwNNsCOnLK4D-28dTY/edit

FSS Coffee House

The Coffee House date has been moved to April 15th, 2026. This will happen in the library from 7 to 9 pm. This will feature many Acadie students playing with the level 100 band! There is a suggested donation of $2. There will be snacks and coffee available.

The coffee house tends to be a less formal event, so folks are encouraged to arrive and leave as they need to. The Level 100 band is scheduled slightly later in the program (approximately 8 pm)

Pi Contest

In order to celebrate Pi Day and our work calculating the area of circles, students in M. Lavergne’s 7E1, 7L1 and 7L2 math classes were challenged to memorize as many digits of Pi as possible. The 3 students with the highest number of digits memorized won a pie from Bread and Butter. The lucky (hard-working) winners were Claire of 7E1 (120 digits), Malak of 7E1 (65 digits), and Sophia of 7L1 (87 digits). The 7E1 class also enjoyed an extra dîner en ville this past Tuesday for having the highest average digits of Pi memorized between the 3 classes (31,6 digits).
