Newsletters will generally be posted bi-weekly on Thursdays - we thought a bonus issue this week was warented. Our newsletters are sometimes long, but I try my best to add as many photos as possible to keep you scrolling :-)
We have had a very nice week together. The students have brought their best behaviour and top efforts to school this week - teachers are eager to partner with students as they learn, develop, and strengthen our “Wolf Pack” community through academic and social growth this year. Students have been learning the routines of rotary and making new connections in their classes.
I hope you heard about Mme Lasko's GenAlpha translation of our welcome assembly this week. The key message:
As a student of Acadie, you are expected to:
➔ speak in French
➔ treat all people with respect and dignity, and in a positive, supportive manner
➔ demonstrate acceptance for individual differences, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, orientation
➔ store phones in lockers upon arrival to school and only retrieve them at the end of the day
➔ refrain from the use of inappropriate, or offensive language and physical contact
➔ be courteous and respectful to all staff members and everyone in the school environment
➔ be punctual and maintain regular attendance
➔ come to every class prepared with all the necessary tools - pens, pencils, etc.;
➔ be responsible for completing homework and assignments and always trying your best
➔ respect the property of others, school property, and the environment
➔ accept consequences for inappropriate behaviour.
➔ use challenges as an opportunity to learn and grow
Staff ask families to review these Acadie expectations at home and discuss how they align with your family's goals for your children.

IMPORTANT FORMS
All students received a data verification sheet and photo day notice to bring home today. Please return the signed data verification sheet with any/all necessary changes so the student file can be updated as needed.
Grade 7 students also received consent forms for the grade 7 immunization clinic happening in school on Thursday, November 5th & Friday, November 6th. Please return these completed forms to the school no later than Tuesday, September 15th.
There are several other important forms that have been posted electronically through School-Day. You will find “Start-up Forms” and “Diner En Ville permission” under the Events tab. Students must have the start up forms completed in School-Day before they will be permitted to participate in soccer and x-country running taking place off property next week.
Students that are new to the Limestone District School Board have also received a welcome to School-Day letter which includes information on how to sign up and a secure match key to connect you with your student.
Sign-in/out & Bus Passes
Safety of our students is our top priority, as such, no students will be able to sign themselves out unless we have received direct communication from parents/guardians through email, note or a phone call. Parents/guardians who prefer to come in to the school to sign their student out at the Acadie office are welcome to do so.
Bus pass permission for the student taking an alternate bus also requires direct permission from a parent and we ask that this be arranged in advance and that bus passes are requested before 1 PM on the requested date.
Students have been reminded that when signing in late, or signing out to be picked up, they must visit the office.
Students who are being signed out to watch a Frontenac home game require a parent/guardian to physically come up to the Acadie office and sign them out so we can ensure that they are being directly supervised for the duration of the event.

First Day Activities
The afternoon of our first day included team building games in class vs class format. Thanks to M Brown for his organization! Congrats to 8E1 and 7E1 who were the victors of their grade levels.
Art Club
Art club begins next Wednesday 12:20-1:00PM with Mme Gauthier-Marois. All are welcome. Students should sign-up on the Activity board. Thanks for organizing this club for us Mme Gauthier-Marois!
Soccer Team Practice
At Acadie, every student who wants to play soccer, has a spot on a team. Sign ups are on the Activity board. Practices next week are Wednesday Sept 9 & Thursday Sept 10 at Jim Beattie 2:30-4PM. Students will walk together to the park and must arrange a pick up at Jim Beattie. Future schedule to follow next week. To participate, each player must have the “Start-up Forms” complete in School Day. Thank you to M Brown, Mme Guardado, Mr McCrae and M Ross for volunteering their time to coach this season!
X-country Team Practice
Wednesday Sept 9 12-12:40PM will be the first running practise. All students are welcome regardless of experience or ability. To participate, each runner must have the “Start-up Forms” complete in School Day. A more fulsome schedule will follow next week. Merci Ms. Doucet and M Sam for sharing their time and running expertise with the Wolves!

Message from School Council - Meeting and Elections September 22nd, 6:00 p.m.
Welcome to Frontenac and Module de l'Acadie! The School Advisory Council (SAC) consists of parents/guardians that gather quarterly to collaborate, participate and contribute to the education of students in our school. Education is a partnership and we invite you to be involved. Our first meeting of the 2026-27 school year will be on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at 6:00 pm at Frontenac/Acadie in Student Services on the main floor. The focus of our meetings is information sharing and discussion.
SAC attendees usually consist the principal, a staff representative (VP), parent/guardian and community representatives. The meetings are typically an hour in length and we have prioritized in person meetings where possible. Elections are done within the first month of school and will take place at our first meeting. Our conversations usually highlight our student’s achievements, equity and well-being. Meetings are posted on Frontenac and Acadie's website home pages and through our school newsletters. Art Donations Requested
The art room will happily accept donations of any unused art supplies. Pipecleaners, thread, fabric, yarn, glitter, as well as beads, markers, pencil crayons, glue, felt, or any other tools or supplies that could be used for art in any way are happily accepted. Please send along with your child to Mme Gauthier-Marois in room 204.
