Hi Acadie families -
Please see updates, upcoming events and community partner messages below. I have sprinkled photos throughout ... scroll allll the way to the bottom :-)
Sarah
Sport and Activity Participants
Thank you to all the parents and families who have come out to support our Acadie athletes at their various competitions this fall. We are so proud of how our athletes have done as well. Just a reminder that students who are not competing in these events are expected to be in school on those days. Students who are dropped off as spectators will require parental/guardian supervision as they are signed out from school. The teachers/coaches that are at the event are only responsible for the supervision of the athletes that they bring to the event. Thank you for your support with this and the support of our student athletes!!
Understanding assessments in Grade 7&8
The grading system is very different from when parents were in school. The feedback that is noted on assignments/tests and/or contained in a rubic (the grid attached to some assignments) is the most important part of the assessment. Please help your child focus on celebrating their success and considering how to apply their next steps in future tasks.
Here is a handy chart to help you understand what a grade/level/percentage your child is achieving.
Level | Letter grade | Percentage Mark Range |
4+ | A+ | 95-100 |
4 | A | 87-94 |
4- | A- | 80-86 |
3+ | B+ | 77-79 |
3 | B | 73-76 |
3- | B- | 70-72 |
2+ | C+ | 67-69 |
2 | C | 63-66 |
2- | C- | 60-62 |
1+ | D+ | 57-59 |
1 | D | 53-56 |
1- | D- | 50-52 |
I = Insufficient evidence to assign a grade (due to absence or incomplete work)
R = Less than 50% - remedial support required
Progress reports will be sent home on Thursday November 13th to inform parents and students of the progress students are making towards achievement of the curriculum expectations for each subject/strand. Teachers will check one of the following to indicate progress:
✓ Progressing With Difficulty ✓ Progressing Well ✓ Progressing Very Well

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall.
The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Important information for families:
· The survey is optional.
· Responses are confidential and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
· Students will complete the survey during class time.
· Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.
By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.
