We did it! A very successful 2025-26 Acadie year complete. Staff have enjoyed watching students grow and evolve throughout the year. We look forward to seeing the grade 7s back next year as grade 8s, and visits from grade 9s to tell us how they are doing in high school.
Enjoy a great break and beautiful summer! Sarah
Welcome New Principal Jen Grasse
We are happy to announce that Jen Grasse will be the Acadie/FSS principal for the 2026-2027 school year.
Dear Module de l’Acadie Families,
I am looking forward to meeting each of you and joining the wonderful team at Acadie and FSS to best support your child. During my 14 years as a Vice-Principal in the Limestone District School Board, I have been fortunate to work in a variety of schools. This includes LCVI, QECVI, ESS, NDSS, LISS, and at Educational Services supporting students with special education needs. Most recently, I have been the Principal of La Salle Intermediate and Secondary School.
As the opportunity arises, please feel free to reach out and introduce yourself. I am excited to get to know each of you and to join our school community.
I wish Shannon Tyner, Principal, all the best on her retirement. Her leadership legacy is reflected in her dedication and appreciation for this place.
Wishing your child a successful end to the school year, and a safe and happy summer.
Take care, Ms. Jen Grasse
Fond farewell to Ms Newell
We were incredibly lucky to have Grace Newell Acadie this year. Her English and Science lessons were engaging, relevant, and topical. We appreciate her investment of time in the Skittles Club and will miss her greatly next year. Ms. Newell will start her new job at Holsgrove P.S. in September.
À la prochaine Mme Whitmarsh
We were so lucky to have had Mme Whitmarsh join us to cover Mme Rhamey's maternity leave. She has engaged the class in their learning, in particular in finanical literacy thanks to the Whitmarsh dollar program. We hope to see Mme Whitmarsh again as a supply teacher next year as she balances her commitments as a PhD student.
Au revoir Mme Chantal
We will never look at pink cheetah print again without thinking of Mme Chantal. Thanks for being with us in term 2 and supporting yearbook and all the year end trips and projects! We look forward to seeing you again next year as a supply teacher!
Thank you Mrs. Bronsema
Mrs Bronsema joined us to fill a leave in the English department. Her excellent planning and organization helped students accomplish a lot in the last few months of school. We are so happy she joined us on our year end fieldtrips! Best wishes in your next post Mrs. Bronsema.
Merci Erie
Our Acadie Grandma - Mme Erie - has been our yard supersisor for the last 5 years. We are thankful for her service.
Grade 7 Community Music Concert and Celebration
All the grade 7 students travelled by Kingston transit for our downtown adventure June 19th. The students gave a wonderful concert to their fans and supporters! They learned a little about their city during the scavenger hunt, applying their French skills with clue and to order the prize - a treat at White Mountain. Thank you to the chaperones who helped us travel safely and the whole Foster family for helping us get all our equipment to and from the venue. Merci to the grade 7 staff and the LDSB French as a Second Language Engagement Grant for funding this full day opportunity for Acadie grade 7s.
7E4 Author visit
This term, the students in 7E4 have been reading the Les dragouilles series about potato dragons who travel the world and relate the culture and geography of different cities. The students of 7E4 made their own Kingston-inspired version of a Dragouilles adventure by preparing real potatoes and filming them in front of a green screen.
The class had a visit from the author of Les dragouilles series, Karine Gottot, who gave a fantastic presentation about her work and the background for the characters. The class got to premiere their Kingston movies which were well received. Mme Gottot has placed Module de l’Acadie on the front page of the series website! Check it out using this link: https://www.lesdragouilles.com/
Thank you to LDSB French as a Second Language Engagement Grant for funding this special opportunity for our students.
Future Acadie Student Visit
Last week, 7E1 & 7L1 welcomed the incoming 2026-27 grade 7 class to experience the school before their arrival in September. The classes were great ambassadors - they taught their new peers all about Acadie and had fun! Merci 7E1, 7L1, M Lavergne, M Sam, Ms Newell and Mme Keely for work on this welcome.
Grade 8 Year End Trip to La Ronde
Fun was had by the grade 8s during their trip to La Ronde. Big thank you to Mme Johnson with the assistance of M Mailloux and Mme Fitz for organizing this trip.
Recognition Assembly

We held our annual celebration for club members, sports participants and those who engaged in special activities throughout the year. Certificates, trophies and HEAPS of applause was handed out. Enjoy the photos!
Grade 8 Graduation
The grade 8 graduation was a wonderful celebration of our class of 2026 and a perfect finish to a year well done. The boat cruise was filled with dancer and kids with THE BEST manners! Fun was had by all. A HUGE thank you to the Acadie staff members who put in their time and heart into planning the celebration for students and families. Bravo!
(My paparazzi self took a break last night. There are photos coming from our photog mama - but not until tomorrow. I'll put out an extra edition of Acadie news tomorrow with pictures.)

For grade 8s who missed the yearbook last year, there are a few 2025 copies available for $25. See Ms Fitz/Lasko for a copy.
