School Council Fundraising Information
You may wonder why schools fund-raise when they are already given a yearly budget. Many times the budget falls short, leaving schools to manage however they can. That's where School Council comes in. With fundraising, councils are able to aide the school in its purchases.

As most of you know, our school participates in the Red Maple Program through the Ontario Library Association. It was briefly discussed at our first Council Meetings. It’s a fantastic program that our school participates in and more info can be found here as well:
We can certainly get more information about how our school participates at the next school Council Meeting.

This year (2016), the school has asked if School Council can help support this program. To purchase all of the books for this year, it will cost our school about $1200. As Mme. Cimellaro is still in the process of receiving the budget for the year and this has not all been finalized, the school has called upon us to see if we can help. Student Council has raised funds and will has contributed about $500 towards the program for last year.
Below is a list of items that the School Council has contributed funds towards every year to help reduce out-of-pocket costs for parents:
Council's Recurring Fundraising Contributions:
October: Red Maple Reading Program
October: Prix Acadie French reading program
Fall: Immunization Juice
June: Lakeshore Pool Day Trip
June: Graduation

Additional Fundraising Contributions:

How else can YOU help our school? Raise money for things like iPads, laptops, Chrome books, and literacy programs. Itís easy, and only requires two hours of your time! ~We are partnered with Community Spirit Bingo as a Charitable Bingo Organization. All you need to do to volunteer for our school is attend a brief training session and you are ready to help bring funds directly to your childís classrooms.

Last year, (2015-2016) School Council raised enough funds through the bingo fundraiser to purchase 2 Brain Bikes and Chrome Books and we can do that again this year.

WE NEED YOU - MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK! For upcoming training dates and more information about the charitable bingo, please contact:
